Greetings Parents and Students,
I am beyond excited to be your teacher this school year. I look forward to a successful, fun and great year. Laptops and Ipads are not a requirement, but if you are allowed to bring your own they will be a great asset most days. I do allow you to type all your notes and we will be online researching, various learning activities and online reading probably 3-4 times a week. I do have about 10 classroom computers, but those will be to share among the students. If you like to work on your own I would suggest bringing a device. If you wish to use your cell phone I am ok with that as long as you are not texting, calling anyone or communicating via any form of social media - no games in class also sorry fortnite fans. Your cell device will also have to have "flash" installed or use a browser like Puffin that acts as "flash", as many of our activities do require "flash". You can choose to use either google drive or bring your own jump drive. I am not a fan of google so will rarely use myself, but the choice is up to you and your parents. The first day or two will be a nice and easy going lead into our exciting year ahead. Please arrive on Monday with the best you ready to learn. I think you will find I'm one of the most easy going and kind teachers at the school but with that said I do expect you to be mature, well behaved and try your best - all while being kind to your classmates. I am also an adviser for FCA, so I look forward to seeing anyone that would like to attend during Friday "A" lunch. Once again I look forward to a great year and I will see you in just under 24 hours!!!
